Trips Around the Sun

I was the sun of a thief, but I'll be a preacher. By the time that I meet her. I can't wait to see her. I'm working hard to pay my debts and trying to stay sober, So I can start over. I can't wait to show her. I want to make her believe she can lean on my shoulder, her dreams they're not over. But we're fast getting older and the fountain will run dry. I've seen so many men greater than me try to hide from things behind their eyes. And it seems we're all destined to carry the sins of eve, a hundred trips around the sun. But no one's there to catch you when you're done. I thought that I'd feel relief what I got was a fever, I feel so much weaker. It's too hard to reach her. I swore that I'd stay away from the loners and sinners, the gamblers and drinkers. But the devil finds my idle fingers. I've lost all track of time. I've seen so many men greater than me try to hide from things behind their eyes. And it seems we're all destined to carry the sins of eve, a hundred trips around the sun.

I am a man who was born into convictions, but never letting friction slow me down. I was a man who would lash out because of anger. I only hope I've never let you down. This is what brings out the worst of us. The cure for this lies just beyond it. This is not a place for me, it's just a space for the person I used to be. It's time that I set myself free if you're not there to keep me baby. Time has a way of showing you what you took for granted, but that's been my perspective all along. I wish that I could tell you that things would be this way forever. But I can't shake this feeling that my future will be bleaker than my past. This is what brings out the worst of us. The cure for this lies just beyond it. This is not a place for me, it's just a space for the person I used to be. It's time that I set myself free if you're not there to keep me baby.

The Sun and the Moon
02:09
|

The sun loved the moon and there was nothing he could do. The moon was all the way across the sky. Then one day they both shined the same, and they could share the twilight for a while. It didn't take them long, they were dancing every single dawn. As the world spun round they played hide and seek among the clouds. They made the most of all the time they had. Soon it was clear with the end of summer drawing near, they would be divided by the long nights. This looked like the end, the stars had not aligned for them, and maybe some spring day they'd meet again. The sun knew deep inside that this couldn't be their last goodbye. No matter just how far, he would find his love among the stars. He's follow her across the earth if he had to. Can't you see? You are my moon, and I'll be that sun chasing you no matter what I have to leave behind me. I look at you there, with the sunbeams shining through your hair. You know that you could go anywhere I'll follow. The sun loved the moon, like I was meant to be beside you.
